Ukrainian Women and Men Will Have Water Usage Controlled by Robots
An innovative technology company in the Ukraine has developed a robot that can shut off people’s water by crawling through the pipes and blocking the flow to individual apartments. The reason behind this development is to keep people who have not paid their water bills from taking an occasional shower or from having a cup of tea.
The company is trying to develop other devices, like ones that will block sewage lines also. People can get around not having water from a tap be asking neighbors or using pubic taps, but blocking a sewage outlet makes life much more difficult for Ukrainians trying to steal water.
Ukrainians who supported the liberal parties in power are upset that what they consider to be personal freedoms being taken away, but the liberal Orange coalition feels that the more serious issues like whether or not to join NATO or the Russian language issue are more important that water and sewage issues. However the people that voted for the Orange coalition wish that those in charge would be held accountable for rising costs for electricity and sewage.
The government of St. Petersburg has also shown an interest in the devices, so St. Petersburg women and men may soon have to worry about Matrix like centipedes crawling out of their toilets.
