Russian’s New Ballistic Missile Test is a Success
Russia has designed a multiple warhead ballistic missile and tested it successfully. The missile will be used if needed against air defense systems. The announcement comes as the United States continues with plans to move a missile defense shield into the central area of Europe.
The RS-24 rocket, which was fired from the Arkhangelsk region in the northeast, hit the target on the Kamchatka Peninsula located 6,000 kilometers away. The RS-24 rocket has been designed to overcome any anti-missile system and was necessary for the self-defense and safety of all Russian women and men.
The radar base and 10 interceptor missiles that the United States is planning on putting in the Czech Republic are there to defend Europe against potential attacks from Iran and North Korea and there are no plans to threaten Russia according to US officials.
According to President Putin, Moscow will be freezing compliance with the European conventional weapons control treaty. Putin feels that a new arms race may be on the horizon. The RS-24 rocket is within the guidelines of the START-II missile treaty because it uses the technologies of the pre-existing Topol-M missile. It was designed to replace the RS-18 and RS-20 rockets of the Soviet era.
