Russian Brides Beware – Don’t Feed Your Husband Pumpkin!
Here’s a word of warning to all the beautiful Russian wives out there – be careful about what you feed your husband because it could end up being grounds for divorce!
In the southern Russian city of Voronezh a woman identified as Yeleda D was divorced by her husband of 18 years after feeding him a pumpkin stew which he thought was zucchini. Her rational for making the stew was that the pumpkin harvest had been very good this past year. She didn’t want to waste a perfectly good pumpkin, so she cooked up the stew for her husband. Unfortunately, she decided to tell him that the stew was made with zucchini.
It was unclear how the husband discovered the truth – but apparently he did and was very upset by what he saw as dishonest behavior by his wife. In the resulting scandal, the man went to court to file for a divorce. His reason for the divorce was that he could no longer trust his wife since she had fed him pumpkins for half a year while telling him it was zucchini. The court granted the divorce.
