Russian President Vladimir Putin put on a pair of skis and hit the slopes in Sochi to try to help the Russian city in its bid to host the 2014 Winter Games. He was visiting the Psekhako Ridge ski area which is a newly developed winter facility that would host the snow sports events. It is located in the Krasnaya Polyana region.

Sochi is a resort city that is nestled between the Black Sea and Snowcapped mountains and is visited by many beautiful single Russian women and athletic Russian men who enjoy winter sports.

Putin, all decked out in outdoor ski gear, spoke to journalists and skied with a group of children. He freely discussed issues of concern surrounding the bid, like visa issues and environmental concerns.

Not only was Putin in town, but the International Olympic Committee inspectors were also there to evaluate the bid Sochi has put in. The members had meetings with both federal and local officials, along with Putin at an evening reception.

The region has stiff competition from Salzburg, Austria as well as Pyeongchang, South Korea. On July 4th the IOC will announce the results of their decision and Russian hopes it will get the opportunity to host its first winter games.
