PR Executive is Inspiration to Russian Women in Business

Nataliva Popovych has risen to the top of her field. As president of Public Relations & Promotions Group (PRP, an affiliate of Weber Shandwick Worldwide), she was tapped to oversee the public relation portion of the Sochi bid for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

How did a Russian business woman rise to the top of her field? Part of it was having experience working in the United States, partly from being in the right place at the right time and from having a reputation of being honest and ethical in her dealings with coworkers and clients.

Popovych got her start in the field in the United States working for Weber Shandwick Worldwide; she got an offer to come to Kiev to be the head of an affiliate of the multinational public relations firm. After spending time there recruiting big name clients and working with them to become more socially responsible, she has now switched over to the offices of the Moscow affiliate.

While she once dreamed of being a doctor or diplomat when younger, Popovych now feels that she has he best of both fields in her current position - she gets to diagnose problems and diplomatically suggest ways of fixing the problems to her clients.

Her advice to businesswomen is to be honest, ethical and to stay on the cutting edge of business.
