Ice Shot Glasses and Bluebirds
If you are out and about in Moscow and looking for a place to meet and socialize with single Russian women, check out the Scandinavia Ice Bar at 7 Maly Palashevsky Per. Celebrating Winter and Vodka, the bar is offering up some specials like Abosolut vodka for 100 rubles and home-made aquavit for 60 rubles. The bar serves the drinks in ice shot glasses.
If you are more interested in warming up, you can get some Swedish glogg for 60 rubles and hot chocolate for 30 rubles before you head out to the courtyard ice rink. Skates, hockey sticks and pucks are provided! The bar is only open in the winter - a few days after the temperature has been below -5 C the bar will be open at 7pm daily.
Another option in the area is the Pod Royalem piano bar located at 7 Yermolayevsky Per. The restaurant recently added the Sinyaya Ptitsa, or bluebird, to its menu. It’s actually a chicken soaked in Blue Curacao and served with a pepper sauce. It’s only 350 rubles for a slightly different twist on Chinese drunken chicken. You can hit the Chinese Tea Collection afterwards no food, but there is a tea master and singing canaries. They are at 12/27 Maly Gnezdnikovsky Per.
