Holiday Date Destinations in Moscow

The period of December 30th through January 8th is a state holiday in Russia. If you are visiting the Moscow area during this time, you will find a number of cultural activities to check out, either by yourself or maybe with a date.
If you are interested in historic photography, there are a few exhibitions you may be interested in. An exhibition of press photos, “20th Century Photos”, will be shown at The Paperworks gallery at 11, Timura Frunze St., bld. 34.В The Literary Museum will be showing some rare art photographs from the1920s-1930s. The photos are in theВ exhibition hall at 17, Trubnikovsky lane and feature the works of Aleksandr Rodchenko and Boris Nappelbaum .
There will also be an exhibition dedicated to Aleksandr RodchenkoВ in the Manege at Manezhnaya Sq. In addition to his photographs, there will also be personal artifacts of the artist on display.
If you are in the mood for some Soviet history, you should go to the “flow the Waves of Memory” exhibition at the Historical Museum at 1 Red Square. You will see artifacts of daily life from the 1920s-1950s, including interiors of Soviet houses from that period.

Or you can go to The Kremlin for a “Russian Pre-Revolutionary Postcards” exhibit at the Patriarch’s palace, featuring rare shots of Russian history, like those from the Great Flood of 1908 of people using river boats on the streets of Moscow. welcomes visitors for an exhibition ‘Russian Pre-revolutionary Postcards’ at the Patriarch’s Palace. Among the views presented, rare shots can be seen, like those of the Great deluge of 1908, when one could use river boats on the streets of central Moscow.
