There’s a new Central Asian restaurant in downtown Moscow and its name comes from a berry which is also using in some of the dishes offered. Barbaris, or barberry, is the name and it is also known as zereshk in dried form.

The 29th Moscow International Film Festival opened on June 22nd and will run through June 30th and offers many opportunities to see some international film fare.

There are many ferry firms around the city offering their boats for private parties and dinner cruises along the Moscow River and reservoirs. Yu can go off for the evening or up to a few days while exploring the river and the peaceful reservoirs to the north of the city crossing the Moscow Canal.

The Moscow Cat Theater, an unique Moscow tradition which is world renown, may be shut down soon according to a theater spokeswoman named Irina Vasilchikova. A number of brave Moscow bikers are standing up for their rights to peddle safely through the streets. More and more Moscow women and men are taking up biking as a way to get around the city and are clamoring for bike paths and more safety precautions for bicyclists.
