Ulan-Ude, Russia The city of Ulan-Ude, (formally Verkhneudinsk) is the capital of the Buryat Republic, Russia. Founded in 1666 by Russian Cossacks, Ulan-Ude is home to a large trade center that connect Russia with neighbors like China and Mongolia.
