Do you need to speak Russian to meet a Russian bride?

One thing that many people wonder about dating a foreign bride is how do you communicate? There seems to be this stereotype that these hot brides, be they from Russia or Asia, only know one or two key phrases. But, if you notice by the postings here on Loversplanet.com, many Russian women (in addition to being really attractive) know English well enough to express who they are and what they’re looking for in a man. The words they use tend to be accurate, and it’s the little things that get left out or put in the wrong place.

Russian is spoken in (okay, well – this is obvious) Russia – but it’s also spoken in nearby surrounding countries. There’s several dialects and versions. You can check out what the Russian alphabet looks like here or read about the fine points here. If you really get into it, then you can buy stickers to put over your keys or even a special keyboard. However, that’s totally not necessary.
If you want to learn the basic phrases like “hello” and “how’s it going,” then you can do that for free online. Try here for some basic phrases (including, “My Russian is bad.”) and here for “hello” and “nice to see you.” Note that some phrases sound different when you say them to a man instead of to a women.
Communicating with Russian women is probably easier than you think. And, importantly, don’t get frustrated. And, sometimes, that can be a whole lot of fun. (More Russian proverbs can be found here.) In other words, enjoy your differences and have a good time with the language. You don’t need to know much to make a connection.
