Jscottv,
we do still speak on occasion and her circumstances remain the same. She is now continuing with her life by finishing her education and looking for a new job as far as I know. Her ex-husband did tell her that he would sign the paperwork before we filed the Visa paperwork. He did not change his mind until the time came for him to actually sign. My advice to anyone in this situation to obtain the fathers signature as early in the process as possible so you will know if there will be a problem.

I would not base this on your decision to communicate with a lady here on this site, although similar circumstances could happen. I know we were both at a loss about what would be best decision. We both felt that she would not be happy without her son and I cannot travel to the Ukraine every other month to see her.

Another point with the disclosure is; if you do not tell, then will it create a problem with a Visa interview for another woman?
