Widowed?!

Has anyone here besides me noticed how many youngish ladies list their marital status as "widowed"? Ladies in their thirties.. widowed??

Was there a war I missed? Did they all marry 80 year old men who passed away and are now back for another go?

Is poisoning one way to rid yourself of a bad husband in Russia?

All joking aside... there really does seem to be an extraordinary number of widows on this site.

Anyone else notice this?.. any ideas? I think we have determined what the designation "dating" actually means ... now what about "Widowed".

I've seen a few but really haven't put ant thought into it, possibly they did have older husbands, now you have me wondering as well.

Women may get widowed for various reasons. The war in Afghanistan lasted 12 years, before USSR left the country. Also Chechnia (I am not sure about the spelling). - Then there are some common reasons: car crashes - drinking - unhealthy - criminal acts etc.

Do you think there is any reason to suspect the women that describe themselves as "widowed"?

No.... I think that had not accured to most here. We do not lose our soldiers like that.....

it's possible they selected "widowed" by error, and I was also told there are many car accidents, in fact a lady I speak with lost her husband in a accident...theres no way I would assume foul play........!

As Dr. Claw and Venman have mentioned. Just the stats alone make it a lot harder for them to find partners. And make it much easier for the partner to have fun on the side....

Yes there is an unusual percentage of widowed here for the age, maybe it is a mistake they do when they fill their profiles, and maybe others really are.

Yes.. It was a serious question. I really didn't think about it until 3 ladies that I liked the profile all said widowed. This made me start thinking... WHY?

I am assuming it is all true and it must be war and accident, but to see so many??
