My ex girlfriend's room mate is from Belarus.
She is 24 and said that recently there have been some changes in her country's visa laws.
-She has been living in Hawaii for a couple months then in Canada.
She is now going back to Hawaii for the last few months.
She seems to have had no problems with any travels, due to these" new changes".
I do believe she applied for a student visa.
Does anyone know anything about these changes and whom they apply to??
She said she think it might have been eased in a few different former soviet states?
Anthony
Cheers

It sounds v-e-r-y strange..

Why should Belarus change their visa laws? And do these changes apply to already given visas??

I don't know anything about it. I think you should ask the authorities at the place where you live. They can inform you of everything that is needed for at visa to Belarus.

USA and Canada have their own visa rules and decide for themselves which people they want to let into their countries..

A young single woman travelling around like that is not very common, I believe.

I think you should considerer everything very carefully.. If something sounds strange, there may be some details that you do not know..

Thank you, for your advice Dr Claw.
I am actually more interested in Ukraine regulations with Canada.
I have done some research on the Canadian side of things.
I have been communicating with a nice women from Polava.
We like each other very much but I am still being cautious about things.
but I will cover that subject in a new post.
Cheers.

I don't know about the work and travel program you are referring to.

But I found this link by googling the phrase:
http://www.exchangeusa.org/
Summer Work Travel Programme

Is this what you are referring to?
