Hey Alena sorry to hear you had a bad experience that would make people cry, but good to see
you have a good head on your shoulders and can maintain your happiness.

I wonder if there are men going to meet their potentials and after the meeting they decide not to
write about it. Maybe they had put alot of effort into their partner and the relationship which turned out
to not have any fire.
Maybe they then decide to give up on the online dating thing (accounting for cost and effort) and decide not to
come back to this website?

Or maybe they are too happy enjoying the company of their partner and do not have enough time to come online
and tell everyone how it is going :D . Well once I find my partner I will be sure to come here and let you all know how the magic happend and give
status updates on it.

Its always good to hear peoples stories (good and bad) so we can know what to look for and so we can have some motivation that will drive us to look for our potential love.

>think that you, men, should read womens forum
Elena: I don't see any "ladies forum". Can you post a link to it?

>Maybe russian women more positive?
I've read in KievPost that Ukraine police are "fudging" the crime statistics to make it not look so
bad in some areas. Is that positive behavior? A friend of mine, a former news reporter in Kyiv,
quit his journalist job, because he knew he would probably be killed if he wrote the truth
on a news story assignment he was given.

Depends on your definition of positive.
I just want the straight story, whatever it might be.

Instead of com, you should put ru and you will be able to read our forum, of course if you know russian
I do not want to talk in dating site about politica, police and etc. Every country has good and bad sides - we are here to find our second half - not to choose president or something like that. ;)

I tried to past on the ladies' site but the system would not allow it. Thanks for giving us the ".ru" idea. Unfortunately, our translator system does not convert Russian to English very well. This was that I tried to post:
Здравствулте! повелительницы, я поженился чудесная женщина от LoversPlanet и я прихожу к этому месту часто ободрить другие (Liudmila, ее дочь и я очень счастливы). Men' форум s настолько активн и не интересен. Я желаю вам везение и счастье. Большинств люди Америка не получают много поощрение от их друзей. Они испуганы совершать большая ошибка, как раз по мере того как вы! Я надеюсь что система Babelfish переводит к русское лучшему чем когда я преобразовываю русского к английской языку.
It tells the ladies that I am happily married to Liudmila and I wish them luck. I stated my opinion that American men do not get a lot of encouragement from their friends about meeting women from Russia. That will vary from case to case. I got support from my closest friends, but most people made fun of the idea. They loved to use the term mail-order bride with a negative inflection and a dismissive expression. I stated that American men were naturally afraid of making a mistake, just as Russian women probably are. Final comment: My friends and detractors have ALL been impressed with Lyuda and Tonya. After seeing the results, no one (not even ex girlfriends!) has found a single negative thing to say or think about the decision I made to find a wife from Russia. And the fight I went through with the visa system to get them here (we had a problem with the physical).

yes, i see. 20 page discussion of "age of the partner". Interesting reading the ladies side of the story.
I use promt software from this company that I purchased years ago:
http://www.online-translator.com/Default.aspx/Site

It translates over 95% of the words, but not some, hotel names and such don't translate.

you see only black sides of every thing and I'd didn't want to have business with such person as you. It seems that you see glass half empty :( but still I wish and you - GOOD LUCK. Maybe you will find the same woman for yourself  and your glass will be really empty ;)

ooooooooooooooooooh Alena:

Not sure who you are speaking of? George Clooney? Tiger? Surely not me.
A politically incorrect comment from a politically incorrect location. I won't respond...

But glad to see you are posting your true feelings, and not just trying to be politically correct
to make yourself look good, like some of the other posts here.

Hello Rogerm222!
I try to write what I think and what I feel (though before this I think about it, I don't like to tell it quickly). I'm as I'm and I don't want to be as a nice false wrapper only and to make myself as a present for someone. I like to hear good success story and I'm so happy when 2 persons found each other as if it has happened with me. I also have bad mood sometimes but I don't like to put people in my mood and make them upset. I wish you good luck in your searching and wish that you have change a little your mind and started to think a little positive because life so wonderful though there is alot of negative points.
This topic calls - men, why are you on this site? and I'd wanted to hear some opinions about it. For example - I'm here to find my second half and I will, but if you can leave here only negative information it can't be useful for others who already had divorce or some bad experiences. We should support each others it this point and not add bad feelings in our hearts.
So, I wish that everybody have found what they are searching here. :)

Hello again. Someone recently questioned why I was still coming to the site. With me, what you see is what you get. I work at my computer for hours every day and I enjoy taking LoversPlanet breaks. Lyuda has 3 girlfriends here and one of them is very close to having her first meeting with a Florida man. I've agreed to be best man if they get married.
After Alena told us how to get on the woman's site, I checked it out right away. I was amazed at how much more active their chats are. Lyuda (my wife) translated some of the entries (using the translation software was worthless). Lyuda says Russian women love chatting and the activity on that site did not surprise her. She saw a man's photo and said she had gotten an email from him. That did not make me jealous. Hey, I came out the winner! I saw/heard some very happy posts by the women, including photos with men visiting them. Then I searched the male profiles to suggest a man for Lyuda's mother. I found a perfect one and Lyuda agreed. We forwarded his ID number to Lyubov, 55, in Russia. She is coming to visit us in April (for 6 months) and we'll love to help her meet him.

>(using the translation software was worthless)

If the lady cannot spell or if she uses bad grammar, it will translate badly.
It is the lady's problem, not a software problem.
Ladies with good spelling and excellent grammar translate very nicely.

When I had an important letter to send, I would translate to Russian.
Then I would translate it back from Russian to English.
If I could understand it then, I was certain that she could understand it.
And I never had any problems.

  I see a very obstinate man. I wrote already but shall repeat. Dear Boys DON'T write your letter in russian. What you write in russian is impossible to understand. Sometimes even the meaning of the idea can be changed.

Here an example: Solab wrote: Men' форум s настолько активн и не интересен - although he has a russian speaking wife who could help him - still it is impossible to understand what he wanted to tell: The men's forum is interesting and active or quite on the contrary not interesting and active. You see the russian part "не" is not on it's place and we lost the main idea of the words!!!
Dear boys always put what you want to tell in english...and plus in russian if you want ;)

rogerm222 is also correct:

The translation software only recognizes "formal" words, not local uses or "slang". If a lady uses many "common" words, the translation will be confused, but a lady using the formal language can be easily understood. Correct spelling is also required.

The exercise of translation has been a very good one for me. It has helped me eliminate words from my writing that do not translate correctly. It has also helped me formulate better sentence structure. :D

Do you actually pay for the access to the site or just lurk around?

This is a strange website.
When you pay, you get ability to send messages to a few gals, and that's all. Someday, they'll answer you, but you won't be able to read their messages because your subscription has expired.

Yeah, you can tell that I'm stingy. But I'd better pay for a website that gives me the full contact information for a person whom I like.

Well you can still read the letters from the woman when you havent paid for your subscription you just cant write them back. Also you said you prefer websites that gives you all of their contact information with whom you like, nothing against you but who is to say the lady will like you back ? I think this website uses this process to eliminate the whole stalking idea. If this website allowed men to have all of the ladies contact information then she would be geting none stop spam mail on their personal e-mails and such. I dont know about you but I wouldnt like to recieve countless e-mails from people who become obsessed. If a woman writes to you and you decide you like her enough you shouldnt be cheap and you should just pay the money to write her back. If you dont want to spend $30.00 a month to chat with someone how are you going to feel when you have to spend thousands of dollars to go visit them (just to see no sparks). So anyway you look at it barabaika your going to have to spend money. I dont know about you but to find my true love im willing to spend everything I have.
